Punta Cana, La Altagracia. - Puntacana Resort & Club announced the opening of two new themed restaurants, Bao and Brassa, as well as the progress of the renovation of The Westin hotel, within the framework of the 23rd edition of the Dominican Annual Tourism Exchange 2023 (DATE) of the Dominican Republic Hotels and Tourism Association (ASONAHORES).
Carmen Rosa de Torres, Director of Sales and Hospitality at Puntacana Resort & Club, reported on the expansion that the resort will have in the coming years with the construction of new hotels that will add owned rooms, presenting a unique proposal within the ultra-luxury segment.
Furthermore, she shared about the upcoming opening on May 11 of two new themed restaurants: Bao, a pan-Asian gastronomic proposal with various flavors and dishes that represent the diverse cultures of the region. The menu will offer a range of shareable dishes, encouraging diners to try new flavors and fusions. Meanwhile, Brassa presents a menu of fresh meats and seafood prepared on "candela charcoal". Both concepts will have an extensive list of international wines and an interesting proposal of artisanal cocktails made with the best local ingredients.
"The design of both restaurants is modern and elegant with carefully selected decoration that creates welcoming and relaxing atmospheres for diners. The restaurants will be connected by a central bar, where customers can enjoy a wide selection of drinks and appetizers before dinner, either indoors or in the terrace area. We are confident that these proposals will enrich the world-class gastronomic experience of Puntacana Resort & Club," said Torres.
Bao and Brassa restaurants are located in a privileged location at Puntacana Resort & Club, next to The Westin hotel, open Monday to Sunday from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. and the bar area until 12:00 a.m., with reservations available through Open Table: Bao Restaurant https://www.opentable.com/r/bao-restaurant-punta-cana and Brassa Restaurant https://www.opentable.com/r/brassa-restaurant-punta-cana.
Additionally, she indicated that the remodeling advances of The Westin can already be seen in the lobby bar, Don Queco cigar lounge, pool area, bars, and a new gazebo on the beach, ideal for weddings, photo sessions, and special events, as well as in the configuration of its new meeting rooms with a capacity for 400 people and another for 150. The new configuration of the room allows it to be subdivided into four smaller rooms of 100, 200, 300, and 400 people, depending on the need. Additionally, it has an open terrace for the comfort of attendees to the activities.
It is expected to have a complete renovation of the 200 rooms, including new furniture and equipment, for winter 2023.
The executives reported that the scheduled remodeling of the La Cana golf course has been completed, with the change of grass from tee to green to the hybrid paspalum variety (Pure Dynasty Paspalum) in each of the holes of the course, new designs of greens and bunkers, which now make the course more challenging for golfers. This consolidates the resort's position as a leading golf destination in the Caribbean.
For his part, the Executive Marketing Director of Grupo Puntacana, Manuel Sajour, shared the results of the sixth edition of the most important golf event in the country, the Corales Puntacana Championship PGA TOUR Event, where Englishman Matt Wallace won the tournament title and took home the first prize of a $3.8 million purse and 300 FedExCup points.
