Punta Cana.- Grupo Puntacana and the social protection program, Supérate, celebrated the first graduation of the Artecanas program, which seeks to provide the necessary resources and knowledge to achieve personal and professional goals, focused on handicraft production and offering training in personal and financial development.
"Beyond the strong social commitment embedded in our entrepreneurial DNA as Grupo Puntacana, and as mentioned in our organizational vision, there are many compelling reasons for us to focus on women," said Karina Guaba, Vice President of Human Resources at Grupo Puntacana.
During the event, Guaba emphasized the importance of initiatives like these, stating, "Specialized studies show that women in Latin America have been the main drivers in poverty reduction in recent years, and money in the hands of women always returns home, reflected in nourishment, health, and above all, in the example we women set for our children."
"Today, they not only become entrepreneurs, traders, and contributors to economic well-being, but also great environmental activists. Through this intervention, they transform a situation considered an environmental challenge into a successful business model," expressed Tito García, Deputy General Director of Finance and Administration of the Supérate program.
Throughout the three-month program, participants were able to learn about crafts, personal finance, self-love, and social media management. The created crafts will be placed in strategic sales points to generate profits that will directly benefit the entrepreneurs.
Teresa Adames Pérez, a program graduate, emphasized, "My venture, along with the pieces I learned to create in the lilas de agua workshops, has become my biggest life project. Thanks to this project, I have security, I feel like a new woman, and seeing my growth makes me feel happy and empowered."
