One of PUNTACANA Resort & Club’s most unique features is our 1500 acre Ecological Reserve and Ecological Park. It offers rare chances to see unspoiled tropical foliage, brilliantly colored birds, and undisturbed native animal life. But the Reserve is much more than beautiful sights, it is an embodiment of our mission to preserve the Dominican Republic’s magnificent natural treasures while allowing visitors to experience their beauty and richness.
SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

PUNTACANA RESORT & CLUB is a leader and a pioneer in the Dominican Republic , committed to developing corporate policies, decision taking and initiating actions in accordance with the development of the Dominican society.

Since the Corporation's foundation more than 35 years ago, we have managed the criteria that quality service is our main commitment to clients, shareholders, employees and the community. Our challenge has continually been to understand and make the wishes of those members come true, in an environment of respect and harmony with nature.

The founding members of GRUPO PUNTACANA, the mother corporation of PUNTACANA RESORT & CLUB, have always had the comprehensive vision of articulating the concepts of profitability and corporate social responsibility. That is why we have adapted our organizational structure so as to develop our corporate responsibility plans and sustainable development efficiently. To that effect, in the external level, we count on the following articulating, coordinating and channeling organizations of our corporate social policy:

Department of Community Relations and Services Likewise, in the internal level, the execution of our employees' responsibility plans is channeled through the Corporate Department of Human Resources.
Following are some examples of how we focus and justify our existence as a socially responsible Corporation:

•  We sponsor the construction, furnishing and maintenance of schools and education centers as a benefit to our employees and neighboring communities, i.e. The Ann & Ted Kheel Polytechnic School (120 students).
•  We founded the PUNTACANA Education Center. A school from two-year old children through senior high school. There, employee's children from GRUPO PUNTACANA's different companies have the opportunity to study and obtain a bilingual, first class education, for a minimum tuition according to their salaries.
•  We make donations to Universities to encourage knowledge and research, i.e. Background Program for Knowledge of the Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC).
•  We support students who lack funds with Scholarship Plans and Donations.
•  Our executives invest hundreds of hours in different social activities in our communities, such as courses, seminars, polls and consulting services and meetings with diversely oriented communities, i.e. Junta de Vecinos Unidos por la Paz de Verón (Neighborhood Residents' Committee for Veron's Peace).
•  We sponsor associations and organizations to interchange training and research experience between national and international universities and other public and private institutions, i.e. Centro de Sustentabilidad y Biodiversidad de PUNTACANA (PUNTACANA's Center for Sustainability and Biodiversity).
•  We develop strategies and action plans to protect and safeguard flora and fauna in our geographical environment flora and fauna in our geographic environment, including mangrove swamps and coral reefs.
•  We support other programs to preserve our environment.
•  We have developed an HIV/AIDS Education and Prevention Program for our employees and neighboring communities, sponsored by the Presidential Council against AIDS and World Bank (Consejo Presidencial contra el SIDA y Banco Mundial).
•  We have built sports facilities (softball play and basketball and volleyball courts) in the community of Verón.
•  We foster plans to improve Public Health Services at Veron's Public Rural Clinic.
•  We support programs for road signaling at Higüey, Verón and PUNTACANA.
•  We support the construction of public housing in the community of Verón.
•  We make donations to different non-profit social welfare organizations.
•  We support nationwide training and education programs for civil workers.
•  We implement humane fair treatment of our employees.
•  We implement a code of ethics and transparency for our corporate and individual affairs.
•  We carry out plans to improve housing, health and transportation as a benefit to our employees.
•  We donate construction materials to low-income people from Verón.
