PUNTA CANA International Airport (PUJ) built on a 2,000,000-square meter lot, its operations started in 1984 with a 5,000 feet runway and a small terminal that lodged a departure gate and customs in a small 300- square meter building, with a capacity to assist 150 passengers each hour-and-a-half. Other facilities at the Airport are a parallel taxiing runway, 8 departure gates, 3 customs offices, 6 baggage belts, Arrival and Departure Migration Office, VIP Room, 50 check-in passenger counters, crafts and Duty-Free Shops, cafeterias, ice cream parlors, pizza, bar, restaurant, bank, first aid, loading warehouse, parking lot for 300 vehicles and buses, flight kitchen, aircraft fuel, Fire Station with 5 fire trucks, 3 ambulances, apartment buildings and rooms for employees and modern radio communication and navigation equipment, including the PUNTACANA Center for Approximation and a primary/secondary weather radar S mode operated, for better security and service to visiting aircrafts. Additionally, the Airport has a VIP terminal for private flights and executives, model FBO operation. The Airport receives all types of aircrafts, including the Boieng 747-400 with tourists from Europe, Canada, North, South and Central America and the Caribbean. It also accommodates small airplanes, helicopters and executive jets in its domestic terminal for local flights. During high season, we receive up to 250 weekly flights, with some days over the weekends with up to 65 international flights. At present, our Airport receives 48% of all flights and passengers that arrive to the country, according to Central Bank statistics, turning into the busiest and most important airport in the Dominican Republic. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() SERVICES OFFERED
